Pictures Finally!

OK, so after a lot of time spent on the computer and getting help from my blogging friends, I finally figured out how to post pictures. . . who knew it was going to be as easy as copying and pasting.  My next goal is to figure out how to add captions.

Here are some pics from the baby shower that Tanya had for Jaxson and me a couple weeks ago.

35 Weeks

Well, five weeks left to go.  I know I keep saying this, but I can’t believe how fast it is going!  I feel extremely blessed because this pregnancy has been easy and I continue to feel wonderful.  Jaxson continues to be very active.  I’m starting to wonder if he ever sleeps.  I hope he calms down just a little when he graces us with his presence.

Tomorrow after work, Brad, Andy, Mindy and I are heading back to Gowrie for a bridal shower for Mindy that the church ladies and some family and friends are hosting.  We’re just bringing the boys to help load all the gifts.  It should be another fun and busy weekend.

Weekend Events

Not only was this weekend crazy hot, but we were also very busy.  On Saturday morning I went and picked up our new minivan.  YES!!!  I got a minivan for all of you out there that think I’m crazy.  Brad and I thought about it a lot and decided it was probably the best move to make.  At first I did want an SUV, but after talking to all of my close friends, who are also moms with small children, they all told me to go with a minivan because they wish that they had.  So we got a new black Kia Sedona and I love it!  Brad even likes to drive it.  So the two door red Cavalier is no longer.

After picking up the minivan, I then went to my sister’s in Ankeny where she was hosting a baby shower for me.  We had a great turnout and a wonderful time.  Jaxson got a lot of neat things and is a very spoiled child already!

While I was having fun getting my new van and opening a bunch of presents, Brad was at an all-day bachelor party for his friend Chad.  They went golfing in the heat and survived!  But of course they still had fun.

33 Weeks

Well, I have reached the 33rd week of my pregnancy and everything is going as planned.  I am actually quite comfortable at this point; I think I can handle this pregnancy thing for a few more weeks.  Right now Brad and I are getting the house ready and getting little things done so that we don’t have to worry about them once the baby comes.  We did make quite a large purchase tonight for little Cathcart.  We went out and bought a minivan.  Yes. . . a minivan.  We got a 2006 Kia Sedona and I have to say I am quite excited to actually bring it home and drive it.  Most of you know that I’ve been driving my 1999 Cavalier for several years now, know that I will be excited for the little things that most people take for granted, like power locks and windows and even a CD player.  At first I didn’t want a minivan; I wanted to get an SUV instead because they are more sporty and cooler; however, all of my friends with kids said to get a minivan.  So I took their advice and I’m sure that I will be glad that I did.

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!  Hope everyone was able to get out and celebrate in the beautiful weather that we had.  It couldn’t have been any better.  Brad and I spent the holiday up at his parents in Gowrie along with Andy and his fiance, Mindy, and also my parents. Gowrie has a big 4th of July celebration every year.  We went to the street dance on Monday night, the parade on Tuesday morning and of course the fireworks at night.  Everyone except myself and Chester (the dog) was also able to enjoy Steve and Kris’ new hot tub.  It was hard just sitting by and not jumping in, but I will get my share of hot tubbing this winter while Brad watches the baby.  We came back to Des Moines today (Wednesday) and went to my 32 week OB appointment. The nurse practitioner had a hard time counting his heartrate because he was so active; she got a kick out of it.  Everything is going great and on track for the arrival sometime in August.
