Hodge Podge

On Friday, my mom, Grandma, Aunt Wendy and Aunt Patty stopped and visited us before they took Aunt Patty to Atlantic so that she could catch her flight from Omaha on Sat. Patty lives in Oregon and hasn’t been back to Iowa for at least eight years, so it was great seeing her.  We hope that she will be able to come back soon.  On Sunday, Brad and Jaxson headed up to Gowrie to spend the day with G & G Cathcart and of course they had a great time.  We look forward to Grandma C coming down this weekend to watch Jaxson while Brad goes to the Iowa game. This morning at 4:00, I took Heath and Tanya to the airport so that they can fly to Maui for their honeymoon.  Yep, I’m jealous!   Jaxson has now slept through the night for two nights in a row.  WOO-HOO!  For the last three weeks or so he has been waking up every night and will not go back to sleep unless he comes into bed with us. And for those of you that have toddlers, you know sleeping with them is quite dangerous. . . for the adult that is.  I always get kicked in the stomach and chest and was just waiting to get a broken nose.   I know that’s not a good habit to start, but when everyone is exhausted, you really don’t care. Jaxson and I just had our first babysitting experience with our tiny little neighbor, Maxwell.  Maxwell was born ten weeks early, but is doing fabulous.  He is a cute little booger.  Jaxson was fascinated with him, but then got pretty mad when I wouldn’t let him take Max’s pacifier.  It went well; however, it’s a good reminder not to try for another baby anytime soon.

Ahh, I haven’t even SEEN Maxwell yet! I bet he’s adorable. Ditto on the sleeping with a toddler–Jack is a roller. But if everyone sleeps better, it’s worth it.
