Happy 1st Birthday Holden!!

Our baby turned 1 today (sniff sniff)!  I honestly can not believe it.  This past year has just flown by and has been so enjoyable. . . priceless.  This little boy has brought so much joy to our lives.  He is constantly making us laugh and smile and whenever I see him, I just want to squeeze him and give him kisses.  I think Jaxson feels the same because if you are ever around the two of them, it won’t take long for you to notice that Jaxson is constantly playing with him and giving him hugs and kisses too.  It’s precious to see the two of them together too.  Holden’s eyes just light up when he sees Jaxson and Jaxson can get him to laugh like no other.  Holden is such a good boy too.  He is almost always happy, except for when he is hungry or tired.  I also call him my little lover.  He likes to be held a lot, but it’s usually so that he can give me a hug or kiss.  He LOVES getting his burp rag and for me to put it on my shoulder so that he can lay his head down.  I wish that could last forever 🙂 I would prefer if he didn’t grow up anymore, but since I can’t control that, I guess that I will just have to settle for the awesome little boy that I know he is going to become.  We love you Holden!!

Good morning birthday boy!

Holden is happy with crawling on these mats.

Enjoying a cookie for his birthday.  Don’t worry, he’s going to get his cake when we have his party next weekend.

Funny Jaxson Story

So I know that I haven’t had a funny Jaxson story for a while.  Here’s one for ya.  We were up in his room tonight and Jaxson was supposed to be getting his jammies on while I was picking up his room.  He was jumping on his bed and trying to pull his pants down at the same time and I wasn’t really paying attention to what he was doing.  Then he says,"Hey Mommy, if we are ever at a party and my pants are like this (he pulls his shirt up and his butt his hanging halfway out), you can pull my pants up, OK?"  My response, "Sure Jaxson, but why would you be at a party with your pants like that?"  He shrugged his shoulders.  Oh goodness. . . this kid scares me 🙂

Grandma Pam stopped to visit her boys.

These pics are for Dad and Brenda. This is the best that I could get with their matching jammies on.

Holden’s First Haircut

Today we took Holden to Okie Clips to get his first haircut.  Okie has been waiting to get her sheers on Holden’s hair, so today was the day.  He sat very well on my lap.  There was no crying, just a little head turning because he was curious as to what she was doing to him or he was wanting to watch her.  He no longer looks like my little baby anymore. . . now he’s a little boy 😦

What’s going on here?

This isn’t so bad.

Watch it Okie!

Merry Christmas 2010

We would like to wish all of our family and friends a very Merry Christmas.  We hope that all of you were able to spend time with your loved ones and celebrate our Savior’s birth.  Our Christmas has truly been wonderful.  We went to church on Christmas Eve Eve (Thurs) and it was a wonderful service with beautiful music.  We had our family Christmas on Christmas Eve morning since we were going out of town.  Luckily with the poor weather, we were still able to get to Gowrie to celebrate with the Cathcarts.  We had a wonderful time hanging out with the family and had some excellent food.  On Christmas Day, Karl, Lisa, Laura, and Adam came over for a prime rib dinner.  It was great to see them on Christmas.  Sadly, we had to be the party poopers and leave early since I had to get back to head off to work.  Before going into work though, our fabulous neighbors/family across the street (the Barrons) invited us over for supper at their house.  Matt and Ann made some fabulous lasagna.  It was so great spending time with our loved ones and we look forward to one more Christmas yet in January with Mom and Mike.  It’s fun that we get to spread out the holiday season for a little longer.

Three of Santa’s elves

Jaxson got a horn for his new bike.

Holden got a new puzzle.

Santa even took time out of his BUSY schedule to stop at Papa and Nana’s house to see the Cathcart boys.

Holden didn’t know what to think of him.

Nana got a new cookie jar.

Papa got a heavy rock.

Jaxson is sporting his new hooded bath towel that Nana made.

The boys enjoyed a dip in the hot tub.

Jaxson’s reaction when we told him that Santa was coming a night early since we were going to be at Grandpa and Grandma Cathcart’s on Christmas.

Yeah, he was a little excited.

What did Santa leave in the stocking?

Jaxson "helped" Holden open his presents.

How did Santa fit this down the chimney?

More Holiday Baking Fun

Miah and Jaxson cutting out sugar cookies.

The decorating fun. . . oh how I always forget how messy this is.

Jaxson helped bake all of these goodies and they were yummy!

And how do you keep the 1 year old entertained while baking you ask. . .

Give him a spoon and spatula with chocolate almond bark on it.

Holden’s first Christmas cookie.  Yep, he loved it 🙂
