Stranger Danger

Today Jaxson informed me that they talked about strangers at daycare today.  He told me all about what he learned when we got home.  I continued the conversation and reinforced that he should never go with anybody that he doesn’t know.  Then I asked him what he should do if somebody were to grab him.  He said that he would run, kick them, punch them, poke them in their eyes and yell.  I told him that he needed to do whatever he had to to get away. . . he agreed.  So a few minutes later when we were already onto another subject he says, "Hey Mommy, I got an idea! How about I just tell the strangers, ‘Nah, I don’t want to go with you.’"  Sure Jaxson, I bet that will work 🙂

This & That. . .

Snuggle time in the morning. . . nice hair Holden 🙂

Jaxson’s new favorite thing. . .sorting laundry emoticon  I don’t dare do it without him or I will be in BIG trouble.  He does a great job too.

We went up to Ames yesterday to take Nana Pam out to lunch at Applebees for her birthday and Jaxson’s 1/2 birthday.

Holden is helping me make a grocery list.

Boo. . . It’s Cold Again

Mother nature is teasing us.  After a beautiful week last week, we are now back to reality with the cold temps and staying inside, but not for much longer we hope.  Not much going on here.  I just wanted to put a couple of pictures on here. . .

Daddy snuggling with a tired Holden at Monkey Joe’s.  Brad took the day off on Friday to get new tires on his truck and he was also able to go to Monkey Joe’s with us and all of our friends.

Playing a car racing game.

Holden is just like his brother and LOVES being outside.

Holden wouldn’t stop pointing at the door and whining/crying to go outside, so I finally put him outside in the 20 degree weather while I stayed insdie so that he could learn what "cold" means.  Needless to say, he didn’t stay out there very long and he quit wanting to go out.

Whooo this wind is chilly!

The Circus Has Come To Town

Today, Jaxson got to be part of a circus.  His preschool put on a circus and he was the very strong man that can lift up anything.  Hmmm. . . how fitting for him since he is always telling us how he can lift up a tree and a house, once you cut the ground off of it first, he reminds us.  We sent him prepared for his part. . .

He’s MASSIVE!!

You don’t want to mess with this dude. . .

. . .or this crazy duck.

Holden likes to make a funny face.

Now he’s just being cute.

Spring Thaw

Holy Toredo!!!  Jaxson said that this morning as he looked outside when we woke up to find ALL of the snow in our front yard gone emoticon.  What a gorgeous day it was.  I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy it like we did.  Holden and I went on a little walk this morning while Jaxson was at preschool.  This afternoon it felt like the good ol’ days with the Case Haubs here and several other neighbors.  At one point we had 9 boys and 3 girls here.  That makes for a nice muddy mess for sure.  The kids had fun being outside all afternoon and then straight to the bath they went.  We then enjoyed grilling steaks and chicken for supper.  Oh how I wish this weather was here to stay, but I’m definitely not getting my hopes up.  After all, this is Iowa 🙂  These first pictures were taken yesterday.

Miah is thinking maybe it’s not such a good idea to wear Crocs in the snow.

It’s a snow shoveling party.

This was today.  Jaxson said, "Mommy, it’s so beautiful outside.  You don’t even need a coat!"  Yay for 70 degrees!

Is Spring Here Yet?

Boy are we loving this nice weather.  I think at least half of our snow is gone and hoping that by the end of this week, it will be ALL gone 🙂  We haven’t been up to much lately, so I will just update you thru pictures. . .

The football cake that I made for the Super Bowl.  Way to go Packers!!

Yummy suckers!

Brad had the boys outside this weekend and built a snowman and a tunnel.
