Happy 60th Birthday Papa Mike!

WOW, what a fun weekend we had!  We headed back to Hubbard on Saturday morning to make our rounds seeing all of the family.  We went out to the farm to see Brandon and Jess and to see all of the nice things they’ve done to the house.  They are really making our childhood home look beautiful.  We then went into town to see Papa Choo Choo and Nana Brenda.  We hung out there for a little bit and then Brad and I took off leaving the boys with them for an overnight slumber party πŸ™‚  Dad and Brenda had all three grandbabies overnight. . . brave souls!  We then went to the bar in town for a big birthday bash.  Mike turned 60 and we were celebrating emoticon.  There was a great turnout for his party.  A lot of our family and friends that we hadn’t seen in a long time were able to make it.  It was great seeing everybody.  One of the best things about the party was that my Aunt Patty from Oregon Davenport was there. Yep, that’s right, my Aunt Patty has moved A LOT closer to us.  Just last week she moved back to Iowa from Oregon.  We are so excited to have her that much closer.  The guys (Brandon, Heath, Chad (Jess’ brother), and Brad) also had an interesting night.  My brother has been checking his cows every 2-3 hours lately because he has a lot of pregos.  So the guys decided to go with him at 11pm to go check his cows.  It was their lucky night because they found a cow in labor.  They checked on her, went inside for a drink and by the time they came back out the calf had been born.  So much for seeing anything exciting guys.  They then returned to the bar for some more fun and to tell their birth story.  We all headed home around 1:30 and were thankful that we didn’t have to get up at 6:30 with our kiddos.  I think it’s safe to say that the Birthday Boy had a fun night and so did we.  Thanks to Dad and Brenda for keeping the boys for us.  They had a lot of fun!
