Other Fun Things

Jaxson had his first sleepover last Friday night at his friend, Riley’s house.  We met Riley one year ago at our park when we were there playing.  His mom and I started talking and found that we have a lot in common.  The boys have the same birthday, Riley is three hours older.  Riley also has a younger brother who is one.  We hung out with them for a month or so but seemed to have lost touch when school started up and everyone got back on a schedule.  A couple weeks ago, Riley’s mom knocked on our door to tell us that they had just bought the house down in the cul-de-sac.  Ever since they’ve moved in, the boys have been inseparable.  They play so well together and it is so funny to listen to the very serious conversations that they have 🙂  They pretty much spend their days playing at each other’s houses and riding their bikes back and forth.  Jaxson had a lot of fun at the sleepover.  I guess they ate ice cream at midnight then sacked out in their sleeping bags on the living room floor.

Here’s just some other fun and random pictures:

We went to Ashby Park for the first time this year.

Holden wasn’t quite sure about it at first, but then was running through the water in no time.

The boys and I took supper up to Aunt Tanya on Tuesday to celebrate her birthday, which was on Monday.  Happy Birthday Tanya!

It’s a good thing Aunt Tanya had these cupcakes leftover because the dessert that I took to her didn’t freeze like it was supposed to 😦  Of course Holden didn’t mind having a cupcake.

Jaxson didn’t mind either.

Go Cubs Go. . .

This last Friday night was Iowa Health Des Moines night at the I-Cubs.  Brad and I went and we brought Matt and Ann along with us since they are also avid Cubs fans.  We had a great time and perfect weather.  We also got to watch the Cubs pull off a victory.

At The Zoo

I took the kiddos to the zoo on Friday with Jaxson’s preschool friend, Eli, his mom, Leslie, and his sister, Caroline.  It was a perfect day for the zoo and we all had fun.

The kids enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit.

Of course I had to get a picture of Holden with the dairy cow.

Holden liked feeding the goats.

What To Do On Rainy Days

Hmmm. . . we seem to find a few things to do when it’s raining outside.

The boys make a couple horse farms.

"Is this where the horse goes Jaxson?"

"Can I have the windmill for my farm Holden?"

Or we just play in the pouring down rain emoticon

I was laughing at the kids running and giggling in the rain while Ann, across the street, was yelling at them to get out of the rain.  She’s a party pooper!

Happy Father’s Day!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day!  We had a nice day as a family.  We started out our morning with breakfast at church, then to church service, then to home to play outside and enjoy the day.  Heath, Tanya, Kade and Alexandria stopped by to visit on their way to take Heath out for Father’s Day.  I then had to head into work Sunday night to wrap up the weekend.  Happy Father’s Day to all of the wonderful dads out there, especially to the four special ones in our lives. . . Brad, my dad Gary, my stepdad Mike, and to the best father-in-law Steve.

My 3 favorite men.

Another Wedding Weekend

This last weekend we traveled up to Carroll to go to the reception of Brock and Danniele Anderson. Brock is Brad’s first cousin.  It was held at the very beautiful Santa Maria Winery.  The winery was gorgeous!!  They had wonderful food, excellent wine, and a beautiful atmosphere.  The kids had a blast running around and playing in the fountain.  It was nice spending time with Steve’s side of the family and celebrating with Brock and Danni.

Holden got a little bored on the way to Carroll.
