Fun Times

With the weather getting a little colder, we are trying to soak up as much outdoor time as we can.

Jaxson playing a little basketball.

Holden loves our neighbor’s plant because it attracts bees, which he likes to watch.

Jaxson went to his 2nd Hawkeye game this past weekend.  Anya and Josiah were also there, so fun times were had by all. . . especially since they had some better weather this time and there was another Hawk victory.

Spiderman cuddling with Holden 🙂

Nana Kris and Papa Steve stopped by on Sunday to play.

A friendly game of Candyland.

Holden’s new favorite activity. . . coloring with markers.

Creating his masterpiece.

High Trestle Bridge

On a whim this morning, I decided to pack a lunch, pack up the van and the boys and head to the high trestle bridge in Madrid.  It was a perfect day to ride our bikes over the 13 story bridge and to have a picnic. We had a fabulous time.  The boys just ran wild looking at everything and chasing spiders.  I look forward to going back in a couple weeks when the leaves are changing colors because that will be a gorgeous sight.

Enjoying our picnic lunch.

You would think that I told them to tilt their head to the right and say "cheese."

Jaxson did an excellent job taking this picture.

A view from the look out point.

Our 8th Anniversary

Our 8th anniversary was on Tuesday, but we celebrated last night by going out to dinner at Dos Rios.  I have been there a few times before and Brad has been jealous, so I figured maybe I would take him along this time 🙂  We had a great meal, drinks, and free dessert.  After dinner we headed to the mall to walk off our dinner and dessert and we actually got a start on our Christmas shopping.  The boys were at home with a neighbor girl who has babysat for us a couple times before.  She even made puppy chow with them. . . she’s a brave soul!  It was a fantastic night with my honey.  Thanks for the best eight years of my life! I love you! emoticon

In The Zone

Seven friends and I are still doing our monthly meal swap.  It came down to crunch time this month with making my meals.  I usually like to coordinate making my meals with my one weekend off a month.  If it doesn’t work out that way then I usually try to get them done on a Sat. morning when Brad is home; however, with the Hawkeye games now, ummm that’s pretty hard to do.  So I did my meals on Friday (Meal Swap was Mon.) with both kids home with me.  I’ll just say that they got made, they turned out yummy, but I was just a LITTLE frazzled when I was finally done.

My kitchen gets trashed in the process.

The final product. . Zesty Chicken Tortilla Bake

Jaxson was keeping busy by taking pictures

Jaxson showing how we contain Holden during the meal making process 🙂

Random Fun

This is what the boys consider fun around our house.  They fight over who gets to put the silverware away. . . as you can see, Holden won that battle and Jaxson got stuck with putting the rest of the dishes away.

Our little climber

With the weather being colder this week, we broke out the Play-Doh.

This was Holden’s first time really playing with Play-Doh, the right way anyways.  He was so quiet for an hour and was concentrating so hard.

Holden also took up boxing on the Wii.  It is so funny to watch.
