Camping With Papa & Nana Winter

My dad and Brenda took the boys camping with them this weekend.  It was Holden’s first time camping and they had a wonderful time.  They had fun making s’mores over the campfire, fishing, sleeping in the camper and playing with their new friends the Dolans, who are Papa and Nana’s neighbors and the same ages as the boys.  Jaxson said to me lastnight, “Mommy, now everytime I go to Papa and Nana’s I will have something there and it starts with an F. . . a friend.”  How cute is that.  While the boys were gone, Brad and I took full advantage of it.  On Friday, Brad headed back to Gowrie so that he could do the Firecracker 40 bike ride on Saturday morning, which he ended up riding the whole thing.  Latrice and I had girl’s night out on Friday night and enjoyed happy hour at The Cheesecake Factory then went to the movie “What To Expect When You’re Expecting,” which was very funny.  We then went to the new baby store Buy Buy Baby in WDM, which was fun to just walk around and look at all of the crazy overpriced and ridiculous baby items.  We then drove around looking for a coffee shop to just sit and have a drink and talk, but ended up just coming back to our house to have some wine and chocolate 🙂  On Saturday I cleaned the entire house in just a few hours and by golly it stayed clean for a whole 24 hours (until the boys got home).  Let’s see, I don’t think that has happened for five years and 11 months 🙂  Saturday night I got cancelled from work from 7-11p so I went and got carry out from the Olive Garden.  So when Brad got home from Gowrie we got to enjoy a nice quiet meal.

Enjoying s’mores over the campfire in their jammies.

Sparklers too!

Holden, I think you might be looking at the sparkler a little too closely.

Exhausted boys!

Jaxson and his new friend Daniel.

Our little punkie 🙂

Holden especially loved Papa’s water jug.

Practicing with the fishing pole.

Fishin’ with Papa.

This was how our girl’s night out started 🙂

Looks like the boys had a great time camping! We are still wanting to do that this summer with our kiddos, too. Just need to find a weekend when it’s not 100+ degrees! Glad girls’ night out was such a blast. Sounds like lots of fun! Too bad you had to clean that weekend, but then again, I do appreciate the beauty of a house that stays CLEAN for more than 5 seconds. Hope you enjoyed that blink of time!
